I’ve been practicing yoga on and off for about a year (mostly random YouTube flows), but I feel like I’m missing the “personal transformation” part everyone talks about. I’m not just looking to get more flexible — I want a real shift in how I handle stress, my habits, my relationships, and how I talk to myself.
I’m also a bit overwhelmed because there are so many styles: hatha, vinyasa, yin, kundalini, ashtanga, hot yoga, even aerial. Some people say “any yoga transforms you,” others swear one style changed their life.
If you’ve been through an actual transformation, what type of yoga helped you most — and what did you do consistently (classes, breathwork, journaling, meditation, etc.)? I’m open, I just want something grounded and realistic, not hype. 🙏
