I keep hearing the phrase “yoga embodiment practice” in classes and online, but I’m not sure what it actually means. Is it just another way to say “be mindful,” or is it a specific kind of yoga?
For context: I’ve done yoga on and off for a couple years (mostly vinyasa videos). I can follow poses, but my brain is often somewhere else (work stress, phone, to-do list). A teacher recently said “the goal is embodiment, not performance,” and it stuck with me.
If anyone can explain what yoga embodiment practice is in plain English—and maybe what it looks like in a real session or daily life—I’d appreciate it.
