I keep seeing the phrase “yoga lifestyle” everywhere, but I’m not sure what people mean. I started yoga a few months ago for stress and stiff shoulders, and I love the class vibe… but online it sounds like you have to change your whole life, eat a certain way, wake up at 5am, be super calm all the time, etc.
So what is a yoga lifestyle in real life? Is it mainly about doing asanas regularly, or is it also meditation, breathing, how you treat people, what you eat, not drinking, etc? I’d love a grounded explanation from different perspectives—like what you personally consider “living yoga” without it becoming performative or overwhelming.
