Hi everyone, I’m trying to improve my downward dog (Adho Mukha Svanasana) but it always feels kinda messy. My wrists get tired fast, my heels never touch the floor, and my upper back feels like it’s collapsing even when I try to “push the mat away.”
I do yoga 3–4x/week at home (mostly YouTube flows) and I’m not super flexible, especially hamstrings and calves. I also sit at a desk all day, so my shoulders/neck are usually tight. I’m not trying to make it Instagram-perfect, I just want it to feel stable and comfortable and stop feeling like I’m fighting my own body.
Any cues, drills, or small adjustments that helped you make downward dog better? If it matters, I have a basic thin mat and not much space. Thanks!
