Hi everyone 💜 I’ve been doing yoga on and off for about 6 months (mostly gentle vinyasa at home, sometimes a studio class). I started for posture and stress, but I’ve noticed something else: after practice I’m less reactive, I can “pause” before snapping, and I can actually name what I’m feeling more clearly.
So my question is: can yoga improve emotional intelligence (like self-awareness, empathy, and emotional regulation), or is that just placebo / me having a good day?
For context: I work in a busy office, lots of messages, deadlines, and I get overwhelmed fast. I’m not looking for therapy replacements—just wondering if there’s a real connection between yoga and emotional intelligence, and if there are specific styles (yin, pranayama, meditation?) that help more. Would love to hear your experiences.
