Lately I’ve been feeling emotionally overwhelmed in a way that’s hard to explain: I’m fine one minute, then I get this wave of stress and I either want to cry or I shut down and scroll for hours. Work has been intense, family stuff is messy, and I’m also not sleeping great.
I’m not looking for a “cure,” but I’m wondering: can yoga help with emotional overwhelm in a real, practical way? Like, are there specific styles or short routines that actually calm your nervous system when you feel flooded? I’ve tried a couple random YouTube flows and sometimes I feel better, sometimes I feel nothing.
If yoga has helped you, what did you do consistently (breathing, yin, hatha, meditation)? And if it didn’t help, I’d rather hear that too. I’m also open to therapy suggestions—I’m just trying to find a few tools that don’t require me to be super motivated when I’m already overwhelmed.
